Each May, communities across the nation come together to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to breaking stigma, elevating mental wellness, and increasing access to life‑changing behavioral health services. This year, the San Bernardino County Behavioral Health Department invites residents of all ages to participate in an inspiring month‑long series of events, outreach efforts and educational activities designed to support, empower and connect our diverse communities.
In San Bernardino County, commitment is rooted in the understanding that mental wellness is essential to every person’s overall health. This month provides an opportunity for the community to come together, learn, heal and help ensure that every individual feels seen, supported and valued.
County Behavioral Health is pleased to offer a range of community-focused events aimed at encouraging dialogue, recognizing creative achievements and promoting optimum wellness. These include “Directing Change,” an initiative that honors young filmmakers for their work in producing mental health public service announcements, as well as “Meet the Artist,” an exhibition featuring community artists who share how art has contributed to their mental health journeys.
